Winter Skincare Routine: Morning

It is so important to look after your skin all year round, but in the winter your skin needs that little bit of extra TLC. Today, I am going to go through my morning, winter skincare routine. I am a firm believer in starting to look after your skin from a young age and trying to fight signs of ageing as soon as possible, so I think having some sort of skincare routine is really important. I have three boxes on my dressing table full of skincare essentials; this way I am never tempted to skip it!

So, I start by cleansing my face with the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I find that this cleanser is a lot lighter than other cleansers and is really refreshing, so it is perfect for that little wake-me-up in the mornings. I just use half a pump of this as I have thoroughly cleansed the night before, so I just need freshening up a little bit. I wash this off using the Liz Earle muslin cloth or a face flannel.

Every other morning, I use the Origins GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser. This is such a lovely product and is a really gentle exfoliator that helps to unclog pores. I have really noticed the difference in my pores since using this. It has such a lovely scent and really helps to wake up and freshen my skin. I have super sensitive skin so I really struggle with exfoliators as they usually just make me go all red and sore, so this has now become a firm staple in my skincare routine. I do use this product every day, however on the days that I don’t use it in the mornings, I use it that night instead.

Next, I spray on the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Spritzer all over my face. Again, this is really refreshing and really wakes you up. This is a toner, just in a different form and I find it moisturising and revitalising, unlike some toners that tend to dry out my skin.

I then use my much loved Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate from The Body Shop. I have talked about this product so much. It really hydrates my eyes and reduces any dark circles and puffiness. Again, this is a product that I find really wakes me up and makes my eyes look a lot less tired. I have been using this morning and evening for around two months and I have really noticed the difference.

Also from The Body Shop, is the Nutriganics Smoothing Serum. I love this product, it really softens my skin and leaves it feeling hydrated. I must say, I’m not over keen on the scent of this, but I can get past it because it does such a good job.

Finally, I use my Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser. I love this moisturiser; I find it really hard to find a moisturiser that hydrates my skin and leaves it feeling super soft, but this is it. I just find that my skin just absorbs a lot of products so quickly that I don’t really see any benefits, but I have finally found one that does what I want! This product has quite a thick consistency so a little really does go a long way, and like the rest of the Liz Earle products, it has a really refreshing, minty kind of scent to it which is perfect for the morning. And, even though it is only 15ml, I have been using this everyday for over month and there is still just over half left! I will definitely be repurchasing this in the bigger size!

Then, I am ready to do my make-up.

I hope you enjoyed this post and hopefully it helped some of you with your skincare routines! I will also be doing another post like this, but for my evening skincare routine!
